LAX Tom Bradley International Terminal Airline/Aircraft Costs

TBITEC CHARGES

TBITEC is an airline owned consortium, which represents their interests in various areas of concern to these airlines. TBITEC also ensures the  reliable operation of certain infrastructure equipment at the Tom Bradley International Terminal. This equipment includes:

  • Jet Bridges

  • Pre-conditioned Air service units

  • 400 Hz Electrical Power units

  • Inbound, Outbound, and Interline Baggage Conveyor Systems

  • Inbound Baggage Delivery Carrousels

Fees and Charges for:

MEMBER AIRLINES

Membership Fee:
$75,000 one-time upon joining.

Monthly costs:
Actual monthly expenses distributed amongst member airlines using a formula as follows:

  • 10% fixed amount, 45% based on flights, and 45% based on passengers.

  • The current overall average per passenger cost is approximately $2.65 at TBIT and $2.88 at Terminal 5.

NOTE: Monthly numbers (passenger count, arrivals, departures, etc.) must be received at TBITEC by the 5th day of each month.

Late Fees:
Airlines are invoiced monthly for the previous month's activity.

Member airlines are expected to make payments to TBITEC within 30 days from the date of the invoice, otherwise, strictly enforced Late Fees will apply.  The Late Fees will be calculated as a flat percentage of the originally invoiced amount.

Late Fees charges that apply are: 25% of the invoice if payment is received within 30 days.

                        

NON-MEMBER AIRLINES

Per Use Charges:  Per passenger use charges are determined by type of airline user (scheduled or non-scheduled), and by the type equipment used.

LAWA CHARGES

LANDING FEES-PERMITTED CARRIERS:

Passengers: $4.75 per 1000 lbs. of gross landing weight.


Cargo: $3.72 per 1000 lbs. of gross landing weight.

AIRCRAFT PARKING CHARGES:

There is no charge for the first 3 hours of aircraft parking. Extended aircraft parking on all LAWA apron areas:

AIRFIELD BUSSING CHARGES:

Busses hold approximately 80 passengers (standing) with minimal seating available and some areas for cabin-sized baggage.  The cost to airlines is $45.00 per bus trip anywhere inside the Ramp Apron. A "HELP Vehicle" is also available for the same cost, and is intended for use by passengers unable to disembark an aircraft via a standard jetway or stairs (i.e. stretchers and hospital beds).

TBIT INTERNATIONAL ARRIVALS BAGGAGE CARTS:

Although the service is free to passengers, airlines using the government space at TBIT pay approximately $0.25 per arriving passenger for providing the free cart service. 

TBIT OFFICE SPACE RENTAL CHARGES:

Office space can be leased from LAWA under the Los Angeles International Airport Passenger Terminal Tariff. Current rental rates are $190.83 per square foot per year, paid monthly at a rate of $15.90 per square foot per month.

SKYCAP SERVICES - NON-TBITEC TBIT TERMINAL SERVICES CHARGES:

This service is provided by the airlines at no charge to passengers, although gratuities are customary.  The total charges are distributed amongst the airline users based upon the number of passengers by type of service.

  • Departure SKYCAPS (Available Curbside)

  • International Arrival SKYCAPS (Available inside Customs Hall)

WHEELCHAIRS:

This service is provided by the TBIT airlines to passengers requiring assisted transport throughout the airport premises. The total charges are based upon each airline's actual number of wheelchair trips. The cost of the service is $51.86 per wheelchair trip.  A per trip gratuity, if any, is customarily paid by the user.

Electric Tram service is available for passenger use from the area immediately after the security checkpoints to each terminal gate boarding area.

SECURITY LINE MONITORS:

This service is provided by the TBIT airlines at no charge to passengers. The total charges are distributed amongst the airline users based upon the number of departing passengers.

AIRPORT SERVICES CHARGES:

INTERLINE BAGGAGE:

This service is available to all airlines for airport-wide interline connections. The service is charged on a monthly basis, using a prorated formula of 10% fixed costs and 90% per use costs. 

SMARTE CART BAGGAGE CARTS FOR PASSENGER USE:

Baggage Carts available for passenger rental in every terminal for $5.00 per use.  Passengers arriving on International flights have the carts available to them at no cost (paid by airlines).

MISCELLANEOUS COSTS:

ON-SITE AIRPORT PARKING LOT CHARGES:

$5.00 for first hour or fraction thereof; $4.00 for each additional 30 minutes or fraction thereof, $40.00 maximum per day.

OFF-SITE AIRPORT PARKING LOT CHARGES

LOT C: $4.00 for first hour or fraction thereof; $4.00 for each additional hour or fraction thereof, $12.00 maximum per day.

EMPLOYEE PARKING CHARGES:

EAST/WEST/SOUTH LOTS:  $60.00 per month
